Researching the Rules of Debating (Video)
Description:
This is an excellent example of collaboration between a library media specialist and a classroom teacher. The LMS Maryanna Crawford and 4th grade classroom teacher Vickie Volkle team up to present a library lesson on the rules of debating in preparation for students' own debates in the classroom. The Lincoln-Douglas Debates are used as an example. Students work in groups practicing IL skills of location and access. While 4th graders are featured, the lesson could be modified for older students, as well. Students loved this lesson! VIEW THE VIDEO.
